But you are mistakenly thinking about Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's Venus in Furs (yep, that's where we get the word "masochist") or Anais Nin's Delta of Venus or Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer. The Transit of Venus is actually a scientific phenomenon which is an extremely rare occurrence as the planet Venus makes it orbit between Earth and the Sun, appearing as a small black dot on the solar face.
